Education
The CHILDREN education program focuses on two primary objectives: ensuring children's enrolment in schools and enhancing their learning outcomes. Our initiative is designed to guarantee access to education and foster continuous learning among children. The education team identifies and supports children facing barriers to education, such as difficulties accessing learning materials, weak foundational skills, economic constraints within families, and health issues.
Key interventions under the CHILDREN Education Programs include:
- Pre-school sessions to prepare children for formal education.
- Scholarships and educational support to alleviate financial burdens.
- Mentoring programs to provide guidance and support for educational success.
- Career counselling services to help children plan their future paths.
- Special school services tailored for children with special needs, ensuring they receive appropriate education and support.
Through these initiatives, CHILDREN aim to remove barriers to education, empower children to achieve academic success, and promote their overall development.
Overview of different Education Programs:
Early Childhood Care and Development Program
Early childhood education (ECE) plays a crucial role in facilitating access to formal education for sponsored children at a young age, thereby increasing school enrolment rates. By providing a foundational education through ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development), children are better prepared to enter grade one at the appropriate age, ensuring a smoother transition into primary education. The skills acquired during this early stage significantly enhance children's ability to grasp concepts and increase their likelihood of completing both primary and secondary education successfully. This not only supports access to education but also promotes continued learning throughout their academic journey. Through our program, we aim to offer preschool sessions to children aged 3 to 5 years, facilitated by dedicated ECCD teachers, thereby laying a strong educational foundation that empowers children to thrive academically and socially.
Gayatri, mother of sponsored child Vansh, expresses CHILDREN’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) program has been pivotal for her family, alleviating her worries about her children’s education and safety and providing crucial emotional stability. This support has empowered her to nurture her children effectively.
Priyanka, mother of sponsored child Anuj, highlights the significant support provided by the ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) program during challenging times. She emphasizes the program's adaptation to online learning, which included engaging activities to keep children like Anuj actively learning despite disruptions.
Over the past decade, our program has been dedicated to providing early childhood education, benefiting a total of 2,800 children who have successfully enrolled in primary education as a result. This milestone underscores our commitment to fostering educational access and readiness among young learners. By offering foundational learning through our program, we have empowered children to transition smoothly into primary education, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for their academic journey. We remain steadfast in our mission to support children's educational development and prepare them for future success through early childhood education initiatives.
Mentoring Program
CHILDREN acknowledge the significant impact of mentorship in nurturing educational achievement and overall development among vulnerable children and youth. Our mentoring program pairs students with positive role models who offer academic support, career guidance, and essential encouragement to overcome obstacles and fulfill their potential. Through regular group sessions and personalized interactions, the program fosters a sense of belonging, enhances confidence, and inspires participants to excel academically.
Specifically tailored for sponsored children aged 13 to 15 years, the program focuses on navigating school and college admissions, understanding government educational resources, and exploring vocational training opportunities. By equipping these children with knowledge and support, our goal is to ensure their sustained educational journey and empower them to pursue their aspirations with confidence.
Over the past decade, our mentoring program has been instrumental in supporting 10,200 children, enabling them to successfully enroll in primary education and beyond.
